Lisa M. Sobry was born in Calgary, AB on May 19, 1967. She moved to Manitoba at the age of 6 and spent most of her young adult life in Manitoba. In February, 2011 she moved to the shores of Lake Huron. Her passion for writing began in 1983 but didn’t fully develop until 2007. She has experienced many challenges in her life and feels it is very important to share these experiences with the rest of the world. “Most people suffer a traumatic experience in their lives and feel they are alone. I want people to know they are not alone that everything happens for a reason,” says Sobry. Sobry has survived child/teenage/adult abuse, rape, marriage/divorce, opening and closing her own business and many upheavals in her life. Through it all she has remained a strong passionate woman who believes there is a happily ever after. She speaks at Universities, Women's Groups, Libraries and various venues throughout Canada encouraging people to begin their healing process and move forward in their lives. Sobry also facilitates self publishing workshops across the country. Sobry is currently a student at King's University College a division of UWO studying for her Bachelors in Social Work with a Minor in Writing. She currently resides in London, ON with her fiancé and is working on several books. |
